WHY EMO MUSIC IS ACTUALLY A HORRIBLE ADDICTION

I hate the fact that I spent so many years of my life listening to whiny bullshit emo music. I have depression. I have always had depression. Not the kind where you hurt yourself. More like the kind where you feel a deep inner-sense of hopelessness and grief.  I used to do coke just to listen to sad music and cry. I was literally getting high off of my own sadness. What the fuck was I doing to myself? I thought that cocaine was helping me mask the pain, but the entire time it was lubricating my pain. It's nice to listen to sad music that you can relate with. There is a healing power in it, to an extent. I'm not saying all sad music is bad. But ruminating in it can also cause us to prolong the experience. "PONCHO" by PENNY FOUNTAIN | ALTERNATIVE POP-PUNK

Penny Fountain from Florida have joined the Pop Punk Radio rotation with thier song "PONCHO."

From the artist's Spotify page:

"Penny Fountain cannot be confined to any one genre as they are a blend of alternative, hard, and modern rock with elements of punk and emo weaved into the music. Their lyrics have depth and double meaning enabling the listener to relate in any way they choose. Their sound is analogous with The Smashing Pumpkins, Teenage Wrist, and My Chemical Romance, and yet is unique unto itself. Penny Fountain was formed in 2018 in small town Florida by three high school friends, bassist/vocalist Xavier Wilkinson, guitarist Tony Massaro, and drummer Joel Lopez, and began recording with the Del Couch Music Foundation and playing shows in the Tampa Bay area. In March of 2021, the band appeared on the reality show, No Cover, where they performed on the stage of the Troubadour in LA. The show was a great learning opportunity for the band, and they used the experience to help them evolve into the band they are today."
