WHY WE NEED MORE PRO-AMERICA MOVIES AGAIN | YOUNG WASHINGTON
"It's like Mel Gibson's The Patriot, but less "Hollywood."" - Me
I was listening to an Asmongold podcast a while back when he made a statement about George Washington being a "fucking badass who sailed across a river and murdered a bunch of British dudes in their sleep!" Paraphrasing.
My father and I went to see a movie called The Great Awakening about a man named George Whitfield who was a lesser-known figure that helped shape American history. As we left the theater, I told my father that it would be nice to see more movies about our founding fathers, like George Washington, citing Asmongold's "he was a fucking badass" statement.
You can imagine how delightfully surprised I was when we both went to see Disclosure Day a few months later, and in the hallway of the movie theater, I saw a poster for a movie called Young Washington. I pointed at the poster and told my dad, I was just talking about this! So we caught an early screening.
The movie doesn't actually cover the moment when Washington crosses the Potomac River. It covers his early adult years before the American Revolution while he was serving under the British, and started off the French & Indian War. It opened my eyes up to what a brutal life this guy really had, and that, yes indeed, he was a "total fucking badass." One simply can not watch a movie like Young Washington and not leave feeling proud to be an American, unless you have severe brain-rot from left-wing media.
It was also one of the best portrayals of Native Americans in film that I have seen in a long time.
Certain areas of our government (cough, cough, Democratic Party) have been co-opted by foreign interests intent on taking America down. This is a modern form of warfare aimed at stripping American citizens of their tax dollars and our voting rights. It's time to recognize it for what it is, and react appropriately.
The first step is to stop letting those who have been influenced by anti-American propaganda to stop you from being proud of being an American. The tide is already turning, but we need to keep moving in the right direction.
We need more movies like Young Washington. Hopefully they give us the next chapter of the story as a sequel.
