WHY GOSSIP MAKES YOU A HYPOCRITE, JAMES 1:26

Q: What does the Bible say about gossip? A: The Bible speaks extensively about gossip, consistently framing it as destructive, divisive, and a reflection of a person’s heart. It addresses both the speaker of gossip and the listener, warning against the damage words can cause to relationships and communities. Here is a breakdown of what the Bible says about gossip, categorized by key themes: 1. The Destructive Power of Gossip The Bible frequently notes that gossip has the power to ruin friendships and cause deep emotional wounds. Proverbs 16:28: "A perverse person stirs up conflict, and a gossip separates close friends." Proverbs 18:8: "The words of a gossip are like choice morsels; they go down to the inmost parts." (This highlights how easily gossip is swallowed and how deeply it sticks with people). Proverbs 26:20: "Without wood a fire goes out; without a gossip a quarrel dies down." 2. Review:  Kid Vision represents the new generation of rap-style vocalists fusing their lyrics with pop-punk inspired beats and melodies. Nearsighted is a follow-up to his 2019 full length Farsighted. While his previous album takes an ambitious look forward, his latest EP takes a step back to focus more on the blessings right in front of him. According to Kid Vision, "Nearsighted is meant to be fun, lovable, "live in the moment" type of music."

Music is an art that is often open to personal interpretation but it's also be nice to understand what the songwriter is thinking sometimes too. Kid Vision does an excellent job of providing a story for each of his songs, as a quick glance at the descriptions in his YouTube videos will give the listener some insight in to his creative process. The album's themes cover familiar territory for many during these trying times; themes of falling out with old friends, followed by themes of renewal and building something new from scratch.

Put this relationship in your pipe and smoke it, as "Up In Flames" opens the album with a story of two lovers who have recently gone their separate ways. "When you date someone for so long, you grow attached to their friends and family. After it's over, you feel like some of your family tree is gone;" explains Kid Vision.

"Toxic Love" is a catchy tune that discusses some of the delightfully devilish thoughts that might run through a person's head while in the midst of a toxic relationship that they can't find the courage to escape from. "What's gotten in to me? I don't want anybody to see this side of me. I know I'm not happy" laments Kid Vision. I mean, can a person ever truly say that they've been in love if they haven't eventually wanted to see their partner float away with a bundle of balloons?

Swinging from chandeliers and breaking through tables, quarantine was a time to forget but Kid Vision made the best of a bad situation in "Homecoming" by turning an empty home in to a parkour gym. Friendship, camaraderie, and team-work are the themes for the album's closing track "The Basement." Kid Vision wrote the song to thank his best friends and band mates who helped him build The Basement Recording Studio.

Rating: 7.5 / 10 - A nice little conceptual EP that flows from dark aspects of solitude such as burned bridges and toxic relationships to a place of making the best of the hand you are dealt and building anew from the ground up.
